Canva has become the graphic design one-stop-shop for the digital age. You can use premade designs, make your own, resize to an inconceivable number of formats, build brand kits… and get educated.

Create, collaborate, and distribute effortlessly with HubSpot and Canva

Canva design school is a resource that was developed to help the everyday consumer learn how to use Canva tools, implement marketing principles, and even use AI ethically in a classroom setting. There are countless courses available to take.

My question was: What does Canva know that I don’t?

Mastering Social Media: Canva Design School

I chose to embark on the Mastering Social Media course; with our recent rebrand, we have been brainstorming social media marketing alterations, and I was intrigued with how Canva could enlighten me. What followed was a 12 video, 23-minute crash course in social media marketing.

Social media is about building community and relationships with consumers

Canva’s overarching idea about social media is that it is social, it is a way that most people build their relationships; personally, professionally, and publicly.

According the Canva Design School, here are the 11 things you need to do to achieve this social bridge to community:

  1. Find Your Focus: Where can you find your customers?

  2. Set Your Goals: Where do you want to be?

  3. Define Your Style: What does your business look like?

  4. Make it Visual: Make your audience understand what you are saying.

  5. Color, Contrast, and Clarity: The three C’s to making eye catching visuals

  6. Master Your Videos: Hook your listener in 3 seconds or less.

  7. Tailor Your Content: Make it unique based on the platform.

  8. Educate, Inspire, Entertain: Get out of the business box and think creatively.

  9. Plan Ahead: Plan your content by the week or by the month.

  10. Build Your Community: An engaged community markets your business for you.

  11. Make Your Mark: How can you make what you do shareable?
